High tides in Tintern for 2020

The following information for 2020 has been provided by Monmouthshire County Council’s Land Drainage Officer, Martyn Evans. Further information can be obtained from him on 01633 644769 and his email address is highways@monmouthshire.gov.uk

The levels shown in the table below are those forecast for Newport. Natural Resources Wales typically issue Flood Alerts and Flood Warnings for the Wye Estuary at Tintern when tides a Newport are above 7.2m and 7.5m respectively. However, Flood Alerts and Flood Warnings may also be issued at other times should weather and atmospheric conditions result in increased water levels.

The Council will provide sandbags to store in case of flooding. To obtain a supply, please telephone 01633 644644 and state the number of bags required together with your name, address and telephone number. Once sandbags are delivered, they become the property of the requester who is then responsible for disposal of the bags after use.
