Covid-19 Industry Standard Guidelines and Practices in place.

Tintern Old Rectory has stringent industry standard practices in place including all guidelines for hygiene and social distancing to protect all visiting guests and staff. We use Medi-M8 cvX products, which quickly kill all coronavirus.

This includes:

Cleaning and Disinfection
Bedrooms and all public areas are intensively cleaned and disinfected with Medi-M* cvX sanitisers, which quickly destroys Covid family paying special attention to all high-touch items. Public areas are cleaned before and after every entry or usage.
Bed linen is professionally laundered by a company that uses a special Ozone wash process which kills all known viruses and bacteria. (details) Hand sanitiser is provided at the entrance and in rooms. Masks and PPE packets are also in rooms for a small donation.
Face coverings and gloves are worn by staff, please feel free to wear face coverings yourselves :)

Staggered arrival and departure times
We will ensure a safe distance between staff and customers. We have two-metre floor markings throughout the communal areas of the property. Contactless payments can be made by BACS on departure, or via sanitised card terminal.
Breakfast seatings are pre-booked and staggered, and can be served in rooms or in lovely outside seating areas. You are welcome to place your order digitally or by phone, or simply leave a note :)

Cancellations are free of charge up to 5 days before arrival. After that your deposit can be fully applied to any future stay.

Please help stop the spread of Covid-19 and only travel if you are symptom free. We fully comply with the Governments ‘Test and Trace’service and requirements. By booking a stay with us at the Old Rectory you agree to these Covid-19 terms and conditions.

This historic rectory nestles within the village, in the heart of the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With magical Tintern Abbey a short walk away, Tintern Old Rectory is a lovely place to enjoy spectacular landscapes and scenery along Offa's Dyke Trail, in the Forest of Dean and on the Wye Valley Walk.

We have lovely gardens with seating and views overlooking the beautiful River Wye and easy access to a paradise for walkers, cyclists and bird watchers.

All our elegant rooms have en-suite facilities and have stunning views across the valley. Imagine awakening to the mist over the river as you plan another day in this tranquil haven. Breakfasts are lovingly prepared with wonderful local produce including sausages, freshly made bread, organic muesli, yogurt and berries.


Warm wood fires on chillier evenings provide the ideal ambience in the comfortable sitting room for dipping into our collection of walking maps, scenic routes, guide books and stories of local legends. When you are ready to step forth, you are welcome to borrow our binoculars and hand-made walking sticks.
